Second Life Thriving Arts Scene

I believe that creating 3D art in SL requires a whole new way of thinking; a new door has been opened and the possibilities have yet to be explored in terms of the things that creative minds can make that evoke powerful feelings in the people that observe them.

One subject matter which has received little if any mainstream press coverage todate is that of the SL Arts scene. So over the weekend I dropped an email to the US editor of a MSM publication inviting them to do so. Having discover early on Sasun Steinbeck’s Galleries of Second Life list I have enjoyed experiencing the rich and varied Arts ecosystems which co-exist within SL.

The opening quotation is from Sasun’s recent Q&A with Dale Innis over on the official weblog of the Vitual Artists Alliance Group in SL which immediately registered. With over 100 galleries included and +28k lists distributed in the last six months more and more people are tuning into the SL Arts scene.

Since LL upgraded search options on the client side many fellow gallery attendees have remarked how pleasantly surprised they were by the thriving arts scene within SL. If you are interested in learning more about the SL Arts scene I recommend picking up Sasun’s list from one of the gallery list kiosks and checking out Second Life Art News.
